Senator Maziarz joined local leaders on February 2, 2012 to announce that the Cambria high-tech business park on Lockport Road has been certified “shovel ready” by New York State. The “shovel ready” certification means all major permitting issues have been addressed prior to a business expressing interest in the location. The certification is key to attracting businesses with good paying jobs for local residents since the lengthy and costly permitting process is already complete. Local and state officials worked closely together and were aided by a $300,000 grant from National Grid to achieve the “shovel ready” status.
