Senator Rivera Begins Neighborhood Crime Walks - Visiting High Crime Areas of the Northwest Bronx

State Senator Gustavo Rivera (D,WF-Bronx) visited high crime areas in the Northwest Bronx on, Friday, February 3rd, 2012 accompanied by Muslim leaders of the Masjid Adam Mosque located on Crotona Avenue and 183rd as well as youth leaders from the Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center.
Senator Gustavo was able to view areas in the community known for gun violence, robberies, and many other crimes. The Senator also had the opportunity to speak with residents of the area who have witnessed violence and poor housing conditions in their communities. The Senator described the walk as "necessary in order to be an advocate against violence in the community."
