State Senator Jack Martins was welcomed to the Sewanhaka Central Council PTSA meeting by Franklin Square's Rita Cona this past week. Cona is an active member in the Franklin Square community at both Polk Street and Carey High School PTSA's over the years. Senator Martins dropped by the celebration to thank PTSA members for their ongoing work in all schools to enhance educational opportunities for young people from elementary to high school. "I would like to thank Rita and all of the PTSA members for their warm welcome and hospitality. The work that PTSA does is often unsung and done quietly throughout our communities. We can't thank you enough," said Senator Martins.
