Senator's Work with Latino Community Is Cited

Queens, NY, October 15, 2012 – On Sunday evening, October 14, NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach), received an award from The Association of Mutual Help Unity and Solidarity, Inc. (AAMUS) during Hispanic Heritage Month for his work with the Latino community. AAMUS is a nonprofit organization created to assist individuals with counseling, educational training and community integration.

Senator Addabbo, along with Assemblyman Mike Miller and the 102^nd and 106^th police precincts, recently took part in a public forum sponsored by AAMUS that focused on public safety and the perception of rising crime within the Latino neighborhoods in his 15^th Senate District.
