Medford, NY- Senator Lee Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) and Assemblyman Dean Murray (R, C- East Patchogue) presented The New York State Senate Veteran Hall of Fame Memorial in honor of Medal of Honor recipient Lt. Michael Murphy to the Patchogue-Medford High School this past Thursday, March 8, 2012. Lt. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who gave his life while fighting in Afghanistan, was also a graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School.
Senator Zeldin (6th from right) and Assemblyman Murray (4th from right) are pictured here with Patchogue-Medford Superintendent of Schools Michael Locantore (5th from left), Patchogue-Medford High School Principal Randy Rusielewicz (2nd from right), and various members of local veterans organizations who came out to honor the memory of Lt. Murphy.
The memorial will be permanently on display at the Patchogue-Medford High School as a lasting tribute to Lt. Murphy’s bravery and sacrifice.
