Senator Lee Zeldin Joins Amneal Pharmaceuticals in Announcing Plans to Expand Yaphank Facility

Yaphank, N.Y. – State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) joined Empire State Development (ESD) Commissioner Ken Adams, and Amneal Pharmaceuticals’ CEO Chintu Patel this past Friday, June 15, 2012, to announce Amneal’s plans to expand their facility located in Yaphank. Amneal was awarded $3 million through Governor Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Council Initiative in 2011 to assist the company in their expansion which will bring critical high-tech jobs to Suffolk County. Amneal is one of Long Island’s largest pharmaceutical companies and the proposed expansion will help strengthen the region’s position as a leader in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceutical research.
