Looking for a meaningful way to serve your community?
State Senator Martin Malavé Dilan is seeking talented and passionate full, and part-time interns to work in his Brooklyn District Office. Interns can expect to combine their academic interests with real-world application in the following areas: legislation and policy; community programs; communications; special events; immigration; economic development; health; education; and housing.
Starting with their first day on the job, our interns are an important part of the team, and work side-by-side with staff to address both local and state issues. From communicating with local representatives, to researching the latest legislation affecting our community, our interns are enthusiastic, bright and vocal participants in the advocacy process.
Although internships are unpaid, your contribution to the 17th Senatorial District communities of: Bedford-Stuyvesant; Brownsville; Bushwick; City Line; Cypress Hills; East New York; and Williamsburg; are priceless.
Education:
- Applicants should have strong writing and communication skills;
- Extensive knowledge of the community and current issues;
- Ability to write and speak Spanish and English fluently;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, online applications and research skills.
