Patricia T. Cataldi

Award: HONORING WOMEN IN NEW YORK

Year: 2012

Patricia T. Cataldi is a lifelong resident of the Rochester area and has called Webster her home for the past 46 years. In recognition of her passion for Main Street revitalization, she was asked to serve on the planning board in 1999 and she was eventually elected to the Village Board in 2004, serving a term of four years. In 2009, Ms. Cataldi was elected to the Town Board of Webster, where she currently serves as the only councilwoman.

One of her proudest accomplishments is spearheading the initiation of a series of annual summer concerts and theater performances at the Veteran’s Park and Gazebo. An active member of her community, Ms. Cataldi was a director for the Webster Village Business Improvement District, a committee member with the Webster Chamber of Commerce, and worked with the committee for the town’s new community center.

Following a breast cancer diagnosis in 2006, Ms. Cataldi was introduced to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. In the year following treatment, she lent her talents and helped organize and implement several fundraising events. Ms. Cataldi was appointed to the board of directors in 2009 and for three years chaired the ARTrageous Affair Gala, which raised over $325,000 for the Coalition.

Ms. Cataldi currently serves as chair of the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester board, in which she regularly travels to Albany and Washington, D.C. with the advocacy committee, visiting government representatives to advocate through determination and experience for legislative issues directly affecting breast cancer survivors.

In addition to her civic and community involvement, Ms. Cataldi continues to work professionally as a registered dental hygienist both in a private practice and at local nursing homes.
