Major Jude B. Mulvey, attorney, community volunteer, wife and mother, is also a Major in the New York Army National Guard (NYANG) who was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, for 18 months, as well as to the World Trade Center in September 2001.
Since 1997, Major Mulvey has served as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate with the 42nd Infantry “Rainbow” Division, which was the first National Guard division to be sent to an active combat area of operations under its own command since the Korean War. During Operation Iraqi Freedom III, Major Mulvey developed and implemented training of Iraqi Army and police recruits on the Law of War and Human Rights, and also was responsible for the review of all contract and fi scal law issues in North Central Iraq for the United States Army.
In her civilian life, Major Mulvey is associate attorney with the NYS Health Department, where she is busy protecting the public from bad doctors. Prior to that, she was solely responsible for juvenile delinquency and PINS matters in Rensselaer County Family Court. She also was an assistant district attorney of Rensselaer County and an Appellate Court attorney for New York State Supreme Court.
Major Mulvey resides in East Greenbush with her husband and two children, who were in kindergarten and 5th grade when she was deployed to Iraq. She serves on the board of the Rensselaer County Sexual Trauma & Recovery Team (START), and in 2006, she received the Award for Excellence in Public Service from the New York State Bar Association.
