“Senator Huntley Honors Education Leaders”

(D-Jamaica, New York) On February 10, 2012, Senator Shirley L. Huntley paid homage to the Board Members of Community Education Councils 27, 28, Community District Education Council 29 and Executive Board members of Parent Associations and Parent Teachers Association from the 10th Senatorial District at an Appreciation Day Ceremony Breakfast for these outstanding individuals. 

The senator honored them for their dedicated work to increase the quality of education that is afforded to students as well as their countless hours of volunteer time and energy to enhance the educational environment of our children. The Faculty Dining Hall was filled with educators, parents, and staff.  Senator Huntley presented each honoree with well deserved Certificates of Recognition.

Senator Huntley understands the importance of the school family-parents, staff, community residents, and students work together to improve access to quality education. It has been a rallying cry for residents in our district and our community to demonstrate a responsibility to ensure the education our children receive will enable them to succeed and prosper in the future.
