Under the federal Affordable Care Act, New York's new marketplace for health insurance debuted on October 1st. New York State of Health (NYSOH) is an organized marketplace of health insurance policies designed to help New Yorkers find affordable health coverage. NYSOH allows visitors to compare costs, determine eligibility, evaluate insurance options, and purchase health insurance online, in person, or by mail. NYSOH also tells applicants what financial assistance is available to them when buying coverage through the marketplace.
To visit the NYSOH website, click here. NYSOH can also be reached by phone at 855-355-5777. A number of community organizations in Westchester County have counselors that can help you navigate the New York State of Health Marketplace. To get in contact with one of these "navigators", you can call the number above (855-355-5777) and they will direct you. You can also reach out to Senator Stewart-Cousins' office for assistance at 914-423-4031.
