Show your support for women living with ovarian cancer, the fifth leading cause of cancer death amongh American women, by wearing the color teal on September 7th with the brave women who are fighting for their lives against this disease.
National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month is observed in the month of September to raise awareness of the symptoms and encourage screening and prevention of ovarian cancer, which has the highest mortality rate of any gynecological disease in America. Due to difficulty in recognizing its symptoms and diagnosing it before it spreads, ovarian cancer leads to death in two thirds of the women diagnosed. By raising awareness of symptoms, screening, and treatment options, that number can be reduced.
