Opposing the Rent Guidelines Board’s Proposed Rent Increases

On June 13, at the New York City Rent Guidelines Board’s (RGB’s) only public hearing on its proposed rent increases of up to 6.25% for one year lease renewals and up to 9.5% for two year lease renewals in rent stabilized apartments, I submitted testimony urging the RGB to impose a freeze on rents for all rent regulated apartments as well as for lofts, hotels, rooming houses, single room occupancy buildings and lodging houses.
