At the recent Nunda Volunteer Fire Department dinner, Senator Young recognized Larry Walsworth for his 50 years of service to the fire department.
Larry joined the Nunda Fire Department in 1962. Over that time period, he has responded to 3,549 calls and has completed hundreds of hours of training.
He has also held many offices, including serving as Chief, 1st Assistant Chief, 2nd Assistant Chief and 2nd Captain. He has volunteered on over a dozen different committees and served on the Nunda Fire Department Board of Directors.
Larry Walsworth’s dedication to the fire service also extended to regional and statewide groups, as he has donated time to the Livingston County Volunteer Firefighters Association, the Western New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association and the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York. In addition, he is a member of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs and the Livingston County Fire Chiefs Association.
We all thank Larry for his five decades of selfless volunteerism to make his community safer.
