Senator Jack M. Martins was overwhelmed by the generosity of the student-members of the Student Service Club at the Center Street School, one of the schools in the Herricks School. Under the leadership of faculty advisor Janine Gentile, the students collected 250 toys to donate to Senator Martins' annual toy drive. This year, the toys were donated to Cohen Children's Medical Center.
Senator Martins visited with the Student Service Club to thank them for all of their hard work in collecting toys for children who are undergoing medical treatment. The students were very glad to be able to help others. As one student said, "When I help someone else, it makes me feel good."

"The members of the Student Service Club at the Center Street School are outstanding students who think of others. They are always willing to help and are benefitting from an excellent education not only when it comes to academics but also when it comes to being a well-rounded citizen," Senator Martins said. "I thank them, their teachers, Mrs. Gentile, Principal Bierwiler and their parents."
