State Senator John A. DeFrancisco, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and Senator Carl L. Marcellino, chairman of the Committee on Investigations and Government Operations, are hosting five statewide public hearings on reforming New York’s tax policies to help reduce the burden on taxpayers and help create jobs.
Senator DeFrancisco is pictured listening to testimony at the Syracuse tax refrom hearing, which took place on September 5, 2013, at Syracuse City Hall. Senators David Valesky and Thomas O'Mara also were hearing panelists. Local speakers who testified included various business owners and individuals from the private sector in Central New York.
Tax refrom ideas generated from the testimony at these hearings will be developed into proposals and presented to Governor Cuomo, as he puts together his Executive Budget for next year.
