Senator DeFrancisco Pays Tribute to Football Legend Rocky Pirro

On May 18, 2013, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco participated in the unveiling of a memorial near the Town of Geddes municipal building to honor football legend Rocco "Rocky" Pirro. Senator DeFrancisco is pictured with Rocky's daughter, Rockette Pirro Brunetti and Rocky's sister, Rose.
Rocky Pirro was born and raised in Solvay and played football for Catholic University. His professional football career included the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills. He also was the Offensive Line Coach for Syracuse University from 1952 to 1973. He died in 1955.
