Senator Lee Zeldin (R, C, I—Shirley) held a Community Prayer & Peace Rally at Common Ground Christian Life Center on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Building on the momentum of the prior week’s event in Brentwood, the Community Prayer and Peace Rally was formed once again to continue to bring awareness to the issue of gang related violence in our Long Island communities. Senator Zeldin currently sponsors a bill in the Senate (S.5384) taking significant action to curb gang violence.
Bishop Donald Hudson of the Common Ground Christian Life Center in Central Islip led a prayer for the victims, Keenan Russell and Derrick Mayes, of the recent deadly gang violence shootings.
