Senator Lee Zeldin (R, C, I—Shirley) was honored on November 23, 2013, by the Tanglaw Filipino-American Society for his support and dedication to the Filipino-American community on Long Island.
Senator Zeldin was on hand to deliver the key note address, during which he took a moment to reflect on the resiliency of the community in the face of tragedy, considering last year’s Superstorm here at home and the typhoon that recently struck the Phillipines. He also had the pleasure of swearing in new officers and board members of Tanglaw.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by an organization that values hard work and strength of community,” said Senator Zeldin. “The Filipinio-American Society here on Long Island plays an active role in bettering our local communities and I am proud to have been part of the event.”
