Veterans from Suffolk and Nassau Counties travelled to Albany on 3/13/13 in support of the efforts of Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R-C-I, Shirley) to advocate for funding in the state budget for mental health services for veterans, and specifically the PFC Joseph Dwyer PTSD Peer-to-Peer Veterans Counseling program, a program the Senator helped establish last year which provides “peer-to-peer” counseling between veterans who personally understand the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
