Michael F. Nozzolio
October 26, 2013
New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined with Finger Lakes Community College President Dr. Barbara Risser and New York State Agricultural Experiment Station Director Dr. Tom Burr, as well as other State and local community leaders in the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Finger Lakes Viticulture Center in Geneva. The Center will be located on the campus of the Cornell Ag-Tech Park, adjacent to the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station.
The construction of the Finger Lakes Viticulture Center will support our local economy, create jobs and continue to put the Finger Lakes region at the forefront of agricultural research and development, while serving as a permanent location for Finger Lakes Community Colleges’ groundbreaking Viticulture and Wine Technology Program - the only program of its kind in the Northeast.
Senator Nozzolio, working with Assemblyman Kolb, led the effort to create the Viticulture and Wine Technology Program and secured the $3,256,000.00 State investment needed for the construction of the Finger Lakes Viticulture Center in Geneva.
