State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that the Wine Country Circuit Dog Show will remain at Sampson State Park. Over the course of the last several weeks, Senator Nozzolio worked with the New York State Department of Parks & Recreation, local officials and show organizers to keep the Wine Country Circuit Dog Show at Sampson State Park.
“The Wine Country Circuit Dog Show brings hundreds of visitors to the Finger Lakes region every summer and generates thousands of dollars in revenue, helping to support the continued growth of our local tourism industry. I am pleased that I was able to bring the show organizers together with local officials and the New York State Department of Parks & Recreation to resolve their concerns. Our efforts have been successful and the show will continue at Sampson State Park, as it has for almost 30 years,” said State Senator Mike Nozzolio.
The Wine Country Circuit Dog Show is one of the largest circuit shows in the country. The show takes place over 4 days and over 3,000 dogs are shown daily, representing over 149 different breeds. The Wine Country Circuit is hosted by the Elmira Kennel Club, the Onondaga Kennel Association, the Kanadasaga Kennel Club and the Finger Lakes Kennel Club.
“Sampson State Park is an incredible natural resource that we can all be proud of. The Park is helping to spur economic development and job creation in our local community and we must do everything to ensure that it continues to host events that bring new visitors to our region. As State Senator, I will continue my efforts to support job growth and promote tourism in the Finger Lakes region,” said Senator Mike Nozzolio.
