Today, eighty years ago Hyde Park resident Franklin Roosevelt delivered his first Inaugural address. Recently I toured the late President's home. As a State Senator and public servant, I am inspired by the work of the Roosevelts to do my best for the people of New York. That is why I have sponsored legislation that I know will carry forth the legacy of the Roosevelts. One such piece of legislation is my Equity in Education Act (S.2967) which changes the way we fund education.
"This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself..." President Franklin Roosevelt (March 4th 1933)
