Today I spoke on the Senate floor in support of a resolution commemorating April as Autism Awareness Month in the State of New York.
Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the country. The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one out of every 110 American 8-year-olds may have an Autism Spectrum Disorder and approximately 1 million individuals in the United States have autism.
