swear-in the officers of the Friends of Pomonok Library
FLUSHING, NY –Congresswoman Grace Meng, State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, and Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz celebrated the re-chartering of the Friends of Pomonok Library by swearing-in its new officers.
“We appreciate people taking initiative and volunteering their time for their neighborhood,” said the legislators. “Friends of Pomonok Library has been, and will continue to be, an example of dedication and commitment by its members to improving not just the library, but their community. We were proud to swear-in the new officers.”
The Queens Library system serves nearly 2.3 million people from more than 60 locations. It was founded in 1896 and was the 2009 recipient of Library Journal’s Library of the Year award.
