Senator Stavisky Presents 5th Grader with Award for Earth Day Project

(Bayside, NY)  Senator Toby Ann Stavisky presented 5^th Grader Margaret Sakar with an award honoring her 1^st place finish in the student Earth Day Art Contest. More than 60 students participated, and Ms. Sakar, of the Holy Martyrs Day School in Bayside, was judged the winner.

“We must protect our environment for the next generation, and so it is heartening to see young people who are passionate about the issue,” said Senator Stavisky. “I hope Margaret and all of the other students stay interested in environmental advocacy for the rest of their lives.”
