Community Voices Heard Honored Senator Stewart-Cousins with Shirley Chisholm Lights of Freedom Award

(Yonkers - December 2nd) Community Voices Heard honored Senator Stewart-Cousins with a Shirley Chisholm Lights of Freedom Award, named for the first African-American woman elected to Congress. CVH has a Westchester chapter in Yonkers that empowers low-income people, predominantly women with experience on welfare, to improve their lives, their family's life and their communities.
