Senator Stewart-Cousins regularly collaborates with the Food Bank For Westchester to make sure that the underprivileged living in her district don't go hungry. On Saturday, February 22nd, Senator Stewart-Cousins, along with Ground Works and members of the AME Zion Church, put the Food Bank For Westchester's mobile food pantry to use and gave away food to 100+ needy individuals and families living in Yonkers.
The Food Bank For Westchester is "the core of the county’s emergency food distribution network" and "solicits, acquires, warehouses and distributes food to over 265 front-line hunger-relief programs throughout the county, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and adult, child-care and treatment centers".
