I value your input.
Governor Andrew Cuomo recently unveiled his Executive Budget proposal for the 2014-2015 State Fiscal Year, and now I want to hear from you.
Jobs and economic opportunities are paramount, and parts of the Executive Budget proposal are focused on making New York a more affordable place to live and work. Many of these proposals to make our state’s economy more competitive mirror the Senate’s initiatives. Manufacturing jobs especially drive the Upstate economy, and reducing manufacturing and small business taxes and eliminating utility taxes on employers and residential consumers is key.
Property tax relief also continues to be a top concern.
For the past three years, the State Senate has successfully worked to enact on-time budgets that achieve our key goals of controlling taxes and spending, creating jobs, revitalizing our economy, and investing in key areas like education.
This year, my Senate colleagues and I are again working on negotiating a sound, balanced, on-time budget that moves our state in the right direction and reflects the priorities and concerns of taxpayers.
By clicking on the "Get The Facts" link below, you can review the many available documents related to the Executive Budget proposal, including briefing books and specific budget bills. I encourage you to check out this information and see how the budget addresses those issues most important to you.
With the open, public process of carefully reviewing the Governor’s proposal now underway and negotiations beginning to take place, knowing your views and positions on the budget are critical. So whether your top priority is cutting taxes, helping small businesses, or increasing investment in key areas like education, senior care, and infrastructure, your opinions are always important to me.
