Honoring Our Heroes and Veterans

As we approach Veterans Day, I urge you to take time to honor our nation’s heroes who have so valiantly served.
Our area is blessed to be home to some incredible men and women who have served our country with honor and distinction.
It is particularly important that we express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to our World War II and Korean War veterans. Sadly, their ranks grow smaller with each passing year, which is why it’s so important that we thank them now.
On Senate TV earlier this year, I spoke about the many hometown heroes who served our country so honorably and talked about issues important to our veterans.
One such veteran that I was humbled to be able to honor earlier this year was Army Air Forces Captain Louis Zamperini, who passed away soon after being inducted into the New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame. Captain Zamperini's inspirational story is representative of what so many of our brave veterans have done for our country.

Our heroic veterans have sacrificed so much in service to our nation, and we owe them all a tremendous debt of gratitude. Let us never forget or neglect the veterans in our lives or take for granted the freedoms and rights we enjoy thanks to them.
Please accept my best wishes and never hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance.
Warmest regards,
Senator Cathy Young
57th District
