I recently had the privilege of meeting St. Johnsville natives Armand and Leo Mancini and presenting them with proclamations in honor of their service to our country during World War II.
Armand was shot down over New Guinea, received serious wounds and was Missing in Action. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star and many other medals in recognition of his duty and sacrifice.
Leo served in both Europe and Morocco, and was awarded the Air Medal with Seven Clusters in recognition of flying 60 missions. Truly remarkable men.
