State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) spent the morning at Gloversville Public Library discussing the library’s renovations and celebrating the new windows on Oct. 23rd.
Calling libraries the “cathedrals of learning” and stating this particular library is “the gem of Gloversville,” Senator Farley was pleased to have been able to secure funding over the years to help the library keep up with the demands of its users. Recently, he was able to secure funding to replace the windows in the historic Carnegie building with efficient and historically accurate replicas.
“As a longtime library advocate and Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, I strongly feel that libraries are a place of lifelong learning,” Senator Farley said.
Also a part of the celebration was Richard Russo, Gloversville native and Pulitzer Prize winning author. He is the library's Honorary Capital Campaign Chairperson.
