John A. DeFrancisco
June 25, 2014
On June 23, 2014, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco made a special visit to Irene Manna's fourth-grade class at State Street School in Skaneateles to recognize students for their outstanding efforts to try and make the wood frog New York's official state amphibian. Senator DeFrancisco introduced legislation to designate the wood frog as the state's official amphibian, after receiving many compelling essays from students in the class. The New York State Senate passed the bill on June 10, 2014.
Senator DeFrancisco was joined in the classroom by Assemblyman Gary Finch, the bill's Assembly sponsor. Both legislators answered questions about the legislative process.
