2014-15 State Budget: CUNY, DREAM Act

Met with CUNY students this morning to discuss inclusion of the DREAM Act, and increasing funding to the Single Stop Community College Initiative, in the 2014-15 state budget.

Single Stop provides comprehensive social, legal and financial services to students at CUNY's six community College - all free to the student. It is an effective and essential service that more than warrants the $1 million funding increase CUNY students are asking the legislature to consider.

I'll advocate for the additional program funding. And this year—like last year, and the years before—I'll continue to call for inclusion of the DREAM Act in the budget.
