In an effort to keep children safe Senator Boyle is teaming up with Suffolk County Sheriff Vincent DeMarco and the Brightwaters Neighborhood Watch Group to offer parents and guardians free child ID cards under Operation SAFE CHILD on Saturday, June 14th.
The Operation SAFE CHILD Card is a free program service administered by the New York State Sheriffs’ Association, Inc. with the technological support of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
Using the latest digital fingerprinting technology and high resolution photography, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office produces SAFE CHILD cards for parents and guardians at public events throughout the year. All information collected from the child ID cards can be digitally stored by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services in the event it is necessary for a missing child report. Storage is voluntary and the registration application provides the option for written consent of the parent or guardian.
The details of the event are above.
