Rye Brook, N.Y., May 15—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C-Big Flats) today praised the nomination of Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss as the Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 2014.
"It’s a great nomination for our region, for every Upstate community and for all New Yorkers. Chris understands how Upstate’s job losses, stagnant economy, and high taxes work to drain the hope and vitality of our entire state, and he understands how and where New York government can do better,” said O’Mara. “I’ve worked with Sheriff Moss and have seen his abilities as an executive up close. He means what he says, and he’s not afraid to say what he means. He’s a fellow sportsman and a defender of the Second Amendment. He’s a staunch believer that strong communities can only be built from a foundation of law and order, and a strong private-sector economy that’s creating good, sustainable jobs that offer the long-term sense of security that our workers and their families deserve. He takes his responsibilities seriously – responsibility to family, to a job, to a community and as a citizen.”
Moss received the Republican nomination this morning at the State GOP Convention in Westchester County.
