Statement On MTA A/C Full Line Review
December 11, 2015
NEW YORK - State Senator Daniel Squadron, who created the Full Line Review with the MTA, released the following statement regarding the MTA's A/C Full Line Review:
"I created Full Line Reviews with the MTA in 2009, and they have led to real improvements on the F, G, and L lines. Full Line Reviews are cost-effective ways to make improvements that make a difference for riders who need it most.
This A/C Full Line Review shows what's working -- and what's not. It's good to see some improvements are already on track. Especially peak service adjustments, which began this week. But, it's critical the MTA quickly solve for the bunching, delays, and packed trains the Review found.
It's also critical that Full Line Reviews are completed throughout the system on a reasonable timetable. During his confirmation hearing, at my request, Chairman Prendergast committed to doing a Full Line Review on every line; but there is no reason for each one to take nearly 18 months. The MTA must commit to begin the next one immediately, and complete it within 6 months. Riders deserve nothing less."
