State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting constituents that were honored at the NYS Senior Citizen’s Day Recognition Event on May 5th in Albany. As part of National Older American’s Month, the event honors the generations that helped build and shape our Nation. Honorees were selected for recognition based on their contributions to their community through volunteerism.
From Schenectady County, Senator Farley had the pleasure of honoring Vernon Scoville of Niskayuna, and Ronald Pucci and Gary Riggi, both of Scotia.
Scoville has over 59 years of volunteer service, including helping widows with home repairs, teaching Sunday School and being a youth group leader through his Emmanuel-Friedens Church. Other volunteer activities include helping others through the Senior Advisory Committee in the Town of Niskayuna and the Friends of the Schenectady County Library.
Pucci has over 26 years of volunteer service, including helping with meals through the Salvation Army, being a CROP walker, aiding seniors with rides to appointments and delivering bread to senior housing complexes.
Riggi has over 50 years of service with many volunteer hours going towards the Joshua Project-Joshua Foundation, helping rebuild damaged homes, and aiding victims of tropical storm Irene.
Included in the picture with Senator Farley are Vernon and June Scoville and Ronald and Shari Pucci.
