Restore B71 Bus Service

Time for the MTA to restore the critical link of B71 bus service. Bus services help knit Brooklyn neighborhoods together – opening up access to small businesses, parks, and cultural institutions. That point is certainly the case for restored B71 service, which would bring back a needed route between no less than six neighborhoods: Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, and the Columbia Street Waterfront District.
I gladly joined colleagues, advocates, and neighborhood residents this morning in calling upon the MTA to restore this crucial service to our communities. Thanks to my colleagues and all the participants – Assembly Member Jo Anne Simon, who organized today's press conference, Senator Velmanette Montgomery, Senator Daniel Squadron, and community advocates from the Park Slope Civic Council, Park Slope Neighbors, TWU Local 100, and the neighborhoods residents from the communities that will benefit from more critical transit links.
