Senator Jesse Hamilton Hosts Small Business Advisory Committee Meeting

(Brooklyn, NY - August 12, 2015) This evening, Senator Jesse Hamilton hosted more than two dozen business owners from across central Brooklyn for a Small Business Advisory Committee meeting at the District Office. Senator Hamilton spoke about the need to include small businesses in the policy-making and implementation processes. Senator Hamilton highlighted the importance of their feedback in helping focus attention and taking action to solve the problems that face small business. Topics of discussion included, greater coordination, connecting small businesses to needed information, M/WBE outreach efforts, RFPs and inclusion in the RFP process. During the course of the wide ranging discussion, the group also raised issues at the intersection of other challenges that face the community including unemployment and violence. Senator Hamilton extended his thanks to everyone who was able to attend and expressed how he looks forward to working with the committee in future.
