May 1, 2015
This morning, Senator John A. DeFrancisco attended a ceremonial groundbreaking for Salina Crossing, a $14.8 million mixed-use development project comprised of 6,000 square feet of retail space and 49 housing units. Eight of these housing units will be reserved for people with traumatic brain injuries, with another seven units reserved for people with hearing impairments or mobility issues.
Salina Crossing was made possible through state funding, local bank loans, and assistance from St. Joseph's Hospital. It will be the first of its kind in both the northside and northside neighborhoods of the City of Syracuse to provide specialized housing for people with traumatic brain injuries.
