State Senator John A. DeFrancisco is pictured at the 2-1-1 Call Center in East Syracuse, after a press conference on February 6, 2015, to kick off the new system in Onondaga County. Residents of Onondaga County can now find a variety of resources by dialing a simple three-digit number, 211.
211 CNY brings together organizations in the community to better serve the residents of five counties: Onondaga, Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence. Under the three digit phone number, 2-1-1, updated information is kept under national standards, and the call or use of the database is free and available 24/7.
