PRESERVATION LEAGUE OF NEW YORK STATE GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR 2016
December 29, 2015
The Preservation League of New York State has announced the availability of its 2016 Preserve New York (PNY) and Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) programs to qualified not-for-profit groups and municipalities seeking funding for the preservation of restoration of historic buildings or structures with an arts or cultural purpose.
PNY grant awards range in amount from about $3,000 to $15,000, depending on various criteria, and are awarded for historic structure reports, historic landscape reports, cultural resource surveys of a building condition report. Projects that advance the preservation of neighborhoods and downtowns that qualify for the New York State Rehabilitation Tax Credit programs will be especially encouraged.
TAG Grants are a $3,000 maximum award and are intended to help pay for short-term technical studies including building surveys, engineering/structural analyses, feasibility/reuse studies, and handicapped accessibility studies.
Examples of projects that have received funding include historic theatres, homes once owned by historic figures converted to museums, and arts and community centers located in historic buildings and structures open to the public.
The deadline to apply for either of these grants in April 11, 2016. For more information visit, http://www.preservenys.org/
