I was humbled and honored to join the Brighton community to pay recognition to World War II veteran Don Levine for his service to our country and his efforts in defending our freedoms. At the ceremony, Mr. Levine was awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honour by the honorary French Consul for his actions as a nose gunner in the Battle of Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and the Rhineland Offensive. I was proud to present Mr. Levine with a proclamation from the State Senate to express our gratitude for his selfless efforts. God Bless Don Levine and all those who stood up to tyranny and fought for our freedoms.
