Senator Dilan Joins in Effort to Preserve Affordable Housing
Martin Malavé Dilan
May 21, 2015
Almost daily our friends and neighbors face harassment from unscrupulous landlords; some going as far as deliberately making homes unsafe and unlivable. As sponsor of legislation creating a felony offense for the sabotaging of regulated apartments, and a proud supporter of the Tenant Protection Unit, Senator Dilan joined Allied Communities Against Buy-Outs (ACABO) in Maria Hernandez Park to rally in support of laws that strengthen tenant protections.
ACABO is a newly formed tenant organization that seeks to raise awareness of, and offer assistance to, tenants who through intimidation and buy-outs are being forced from their home communities.
