New York’s Correctional Officers walk the toughest beat in law enforcement. Every day these professionals risk their lives to protect our communities from violent criminals.
Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting with Mike Powers, President of the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA), which advocates for the safety and well-being of New York’s correctional officers. As Chairman of the Senate Codes committee, and former Chairman and current member of the Crime Victims, Crime & Correction Committee, I look forward to working closely with Mike on issues affecting the safety of our State’s prisons.
