January 15, 2015

Albany, NY – State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has been recognized by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) as a recipient of the “Guardian Award.”  The award is NFIB’s highest honor for elected officials who vote and stand up consistently in the interest of New York small business owners.

NFIB/NY State Director Mike Durant presented the award to Senator Ranzenhofer.

“Senator Ranzenhofer has been a tremendous advocate for New York’s small business owners, and I am proud to present him with the NFIB Guardian award.  His steadfast commitment in fighting for Main Street employers has been exemplary, and we look forward to continuing our work together to make significant progress for small business in this state,” said Durant.

Throughout his six-year tenure, Senator Ranzenhofer has focused on creating a more favorable climate for small businesses.

“It is such an honor to be recognized for carrying the flag for small businesses on Main Street,” said Ranzenhofer.  “Over the last few years, some progress has been made so that New York State is more business friendly, including the lowest tax rate for small businesses since 1968. You can continue to count on me to push for more tax relief and to repeal burdensome regulations.”

The National Federation of Independent Business is New York’s leading small business advocacy organization, representing nearly 11,000 small and independent businesses across the Empire State.  For more information about NFIB, please visit www.nfib.com/newyork.
