New York State Senator Michael Venditto (R, C, I- Massapequa), joined with the Massapequa community to congratulate Marina Sapeta, the grand-daughter of Joseph Basile (PaPa), at a ribbon cutting for the completion of her Girl Scout Gold Award service project. Marina, spearheaded an advocacy and fundraising effort that led to the successful installation of the first handicap swing in Massapequa at John J. Burns Park.
“Thank you, Marina for your great contribution to the town. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about PaPa (Joe Basile). This is really a testament to him, because if you are able to create a great message like he did to help other people and have that filter down to future generations as it is in your case, that shows the person you are. He is living on through you and we are so proud of what you have contributed to this community,” said Senator Venditto.
