Senator Boyle and the Islip Chamber of Commerce Host Food Drive
Phil Boyle
April 8, 2015
It is a priority for Senator Boyle to work hard for those in need. This trying winter weather coupled with high fuel costs has forced many more Long Islander’s to look for assistance to feed themselves and their families. The local churches and food pantries across the Island are having a difficult time to meet this rising demand.
To help replenish this much needed food supply Senator Boyle is partnering with the Islip Chamber of Commerce to conduct the “Together We ‘Can’ Food Drive” for the food pantries of area churches that serve our community.
The collected items will be distributed to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Presbyterian Church of Islip, all of which provide emergency food assistance to those in need in the Town of Islip and neighboring communities.
They will be collecting non-perishable food items at the Pathmark Supermarket located at 155 Islip Avenue in Islip on Saturday, April 18, 2015
from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
If everyone takes the time to do their share, we can restock our local church food pantry’s and bring a vital meal to those in need. Please consider stopping by Pathmark on Saturday and making a donation. It will be greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Senator Boyle's District Office at (631) 665-2311.
