(Yonkers - June 20th) Senator Stewart-Cousins hosted five young artists from the Yonkers Public Schools for a pizza party. They each won an art contest with the New York State Art Teacher Association and the Senator invited them to her District Office to celebrate. She first met them in Albany several weeks ago when they came to see their winning pieces on display in the State Capitol. On this day, they brought copies of their work for the Senator to hang in her office and, in return, the Senator presented them with certificates to recognize their achievements. Superintendent Edwin Quezada, Jade Sharp, and Avi Stein also joined celebration. I am always proud to showcase the talented students in my district.
